Start with the label and ventilation

An ordinary product can irritate skin, eyes, or airways when misused. Read the dose, contact time, approved surfaces, and rinsing instructions. Open a window or run ventilation when the label calls for it.

More product does not mean cleaner. Too much leaves residue, requires more rinsing, and may attack a finish.

Never mix products casually

Do not mix household cleaners. Bleach combined with certain acids or ammonia-containing products can release dangerous gas. Use one product at a time and rinse according to the label before changing products.

Match the product to the material

Natural stone, wood, stainless steel, acrylic, and screens do not accept the same cleaners. An acidic product can mark stone; an abrasive can scratch a glossy surface.

What to ask a provider

If you have children, pets, allergies, or sensitivities, give a concrete instruction: fragrance-free product, rinsing a surface, or using your own supplies. The word “green” alone does not define a method.

Ask how cloths are separated between kitchen, bathroom, and other rooms. Reducing cross-contamination also depends on tools and work order.
